A beautiful morning today, and Jane and I enjoyed a fun ride. Harry came out to say hello to Bart on his way to the studio.

Before it got too warm, I ventured out to get a load of bedding. Nathaniel arrived to mow after lunch. He was at our neighbors’, the Herters, earlier, and he saw the fawn that I photographed last week. It has been sleeping in the Herters yard, and was under the Japanese maple just outside their front door! I admit deer are pests, but that one is very sweet.

Instead of birds, today I have pictures of summer cats. Rosie hid out in the air conditioned tack room, so she is not pictured. We start with the wild ones, Licorice and Marmalade.

Next, the barn cats…

And best of all, the Maltese king of cats, Roscoe…

Harry had a video cardiologist visit, a follow up to his cardioversion at the beginning of June. He received a good report and is scheduled for a return in six months. So, on we go…

It was a pleasant, relatively uneventful day. In the midst of all the craziness in the world, with Covid cases increasing, we are here in a little bubble of our normal life. We worry about catching the virus, and we are careful. We miss the old world, horse showing, and getting together with family and friends. Eventually, this strange time will pass, and we are so fortunate, we dare not complain.

Finally, the lantana loves summertime, as does the Dragon Tail. There is beauty everywhere.

Stay safe, stay well.
