It has been a cold, slow couple of days. Today, we went into St. Louis county to pick up some treats for a planned excursion tomorrow, a dinner (originally New Year’s Day) for which we were to bring dessert. It was a fun “road trip” (with Weedy, of course). But this evening, our hostess texted that she is unwell. So, like yesterday, and many other days lately, plans have been scrapped. Covid is wreaking havoc in Missouri. Though we hope that is not the case with our friend this time, it’s always a worry.
There is not much worth blogging about, since trying to get my life in order is not very interesting, so here are some bird pictures from yesterday.

The horses were beautiful in the afternoon light, waiting to come in to the barn.

Inside the barn, Marmalade stopped by briefly for a snack. He prefers to live in the cold, never wanting to be confined. Marmalade believes in freedom over comfort!
“I hope you are not closing that door!“

The horses got plenty of exercise today. Their breath fogged the air, on a day with much sunshine, but very little warmth.

Roscoe is delighted to once again be the undisputed king of the house. Arthur is charming his new person, as he “beetlebombs” around her house. Her only fear is that he may trip her up in his youthful exuberance. What a lucky, bouyant little cat he is! Roscoe, at ten years of age, is more sedate, but equally content.
Be safe, be well. Peace.
Bombing Titmouse is extraordinary picture !
Love the photos, especially the variety of the birds, and their multiple eating venues. Seems the beyond adorable nuthatch prefers his servings on the railing.
These frigid times heaped upon us along with Covid shutdowns and the wariness of gatherings, as well, have multiple harmful affects. Thank God for horses, and Bronze Fox Farm news!
Thanks Anne. Rich would be proud of you.
Extra great backlit photos of horses!
