Yesterday evening, we went in to St. Louis for dinner with friends, and the moon was huge, just rising as we drove. There was no chance to take a picture. It looked full, but wasn’t quite. The real full moon is up now, Beaver Moon, but clouds preclude a picture. I snapped a shot in the dark, late last night, when we returned.
With a freeze forecast, I put the tank heater into the water trough yesterday, then forgot to plug it in, so we had our first frozen water trough.
Marmalade is not concerned about cold weather, but in the barn, Twizzler and Rosie cuddle for warmth. Cora is very well insulated.

The horses romped in the frost, always happy to get out of the barn to “be horses”.
A little bit of rough play Now, time to graze
Marianne illustrates the weather is getting colder, but her smile is still warm.
This morning, less frosty, the horses saw a couple of deer walk past.
Bart only spooks at deer when I am riding him Stone and Oisin are interested in the deer , but unafraid Oisin wants to meet the deer, but they are off into the woods
We went to Columbia today to have lunch with friends. It was a beautiful, sunny day, but quite cold. No pictures of Sue and Bill, but here is Ryan, who came along, but had to wait in the car. Weedy was very sad that he did not get to go. We told him we might take him next time. He wants to meet Ryan.
Home again, all was well, and the horses were enjoying a pleasant holiday. Evening chores were enhanced by recollections of half-finished conversations, and laughs.
Stay safe, stay well. Peace.
Are you getting my comments here? Maybe I should email you instead with my questions?
Yep, Bart’s spooking at deer only when you are on him, hummm very interesting, yet not unique. Maybe Bart likes to liven things up?
