Friday – February 19, 2021

It was very cold last night, but sunny today, and the trees shimmered in the morning light. It was gorgeous, but I didn’t have my camera. And I confess I was not much good about taking pictures today.

The good news is that Jane started the day by going to Washington for her second Covid vaccination.

Marianne arrived early to do barn work, before I was even finished with my morning chores. It was great to see her, and I snapped a picture with my phone.

The horses had a nice day out in the sunshine, and it wasn’t too difficult to pick the snowballs out of their feet today, for a change. There have been a couple of times over the past few days, I’ve almost had to cry, it’s been so difficult to pry the snowballs out. The warmer temperatures are improving life in many ways.

I went over to Jane’s house after she got back from her vaccination, but, alas, I did not take the camera. Oh, the birds at her house were a treat! It was a joy to be able to “hang out” in more safety, now that we are all fully vaccinated. And we had the Pfizer vaccine, which is 90% effective after just one jab.

The cats were in fine form again today.

Spring is near. In the house, a few hyacinths have been coaxed into bloom, mingling their perfume with the fragrant lemon blossoms to bring pleasure and hope.

Birds tomorrow.

Stay safe, stay well. Peace.

  1. The hyacinths blooming against the impressionistic snow in the trees is indeed a sign of hope.
    Love those snugly “Crouchers” too!

  2. Marmalade, who is becoming a favorite of mine, looks as though he knows exactly what Roscoe is saying, “Listen here, you orange sack of potatoes, I’m the king around here!” Marmalades smugly thinks, “Really? We’ll just let you think you are, fine with me.” Spring is coming!!
Happy Horses, Happy Days!! Great Saudi Cup by the way!! What a race!!
