Farewell to Clover – December 30

On April 1st of 2009, Jane found a tiny little black dog at an adoption event at Petsmart. She called her Clover, and everyone who met Clover was besotted by her. She was Jane’s constant companion for more than 15 years, and today we are all very sad. Clover is now buried next to Miss Isabelle, and she joins the many good dogs we have known, and loved, and bid farewell.

Clover was tiny, but she didn’t know it. She packed a huge personality into less than 10 pounds, and she romped with the big dogs.

For years, Jane took Clover with her everywhere. At home, she spent a lot of time on the kitchen table, with a higher vantage point.

In September, age began to overwhelm little Clover, as it may do to all of us. She had good days and bad days, and finally , the bad days were too many. But even in these last moths, she had hilarious joy and enthusiasm, between long naps.

Be safe, be well, be grateful. Love these creatures, that we know will break our hearts. The joy and laughter outweighs the sadness. Slava Ukraini! Peace.

  6. There is nothing harder than losing a loved one, and losing a Dog is heartbreaking. They are special creatures and one day we will know how special. They say we have rewards in heaven and if I get to choose it will be to see my dogs. Now that would be heaven. (Oh, My wife Robin there too).
