Trash day was not postponed by Martin Luther King Day on Monday, which was a relief, since the dumpster is full with seven days of stall cleaning. Harlan, the trash collector (or, maybe, “sanitation engineer”) is always fun to see, keeping a cheerful attitude in spite of a job that can be less than glamorous.

Today is mostly bird pictures. There were a lot of blue jays which I enjoy, though some people think of them as bullies. They don’t strike me that way. I also love mockingbirds, and today we had a visit from a mockingbird at the same time as one of my other favorites, a pileated woodpecker.
