I was riding along on Stone today, and saw a tree covered in buzzards, or, more formally, turkey vultures. The smell of something large and dead wafted up from the creekbed. After our ride, I went back with the camera and took some pictures. They do not do justice to the experience I had, of being close to a flock of those magnificent birds. I feel privileged to have been amongst them, despite the stench of an unfortunate deer that died in the creek. This planet is full of wonders.
Yesterday was a good day for turtles. I saw two while riding and Jane saw one that had just safely negotiated Highway N, a lucky turtle.
The weather has continued to be pleasant, and days are shortening. Harry has been able to relax a little bit this week. Weedy and Roscoe enjoy afternoon naps.
Of course, Harry would rather be riding than relaxing, but he must get through surgery first.
Marmalade offered a beautiful picture yesterday afternoon.
The internet let me down again, so I will end here. Be safe, be well. Slava Ukraini! Peace.
Did Marmalade say that “most everyone’s mad here”? He looks so pleased!
Be well soon Harry!
Wow!! Photos of the Vultures are magnificent!!! But, no carcass? i want to see the dead thing.
