Life here continues to be too busy to allow me to keep up, much less catch up. It also prevents me from falling deeper into the pit of despair that lingers on my doorstep. So, on we go…
We returned to the horse show on Sunday morning to watch Kristen and Susan. Pockets was tired, but jumped around well, and Kristen did a super job of piloting him efficiently around the courses. They finished on a very high note, with a primary color second place in the Mini Prix, which included money! Susan and Galatea won just about every class they were in, finishing with a blue ribbon first place.
At the horse show, Cat came and said hello. She was here to ride at Bronze Fox Farm in September of last year. Of course, I did not recognize her, much to my chagrin! In fairness, a lot has happened since then, including the birth her daughter, Louisa. And she does look different without a helmet. It was good to reconnect. Cat has a super mustang named Juniper. She returned to the show ring a couple of weeks ago doing the jumpers at Ridgefield. At the show on Sunday, Cat had come to braid a horse for a friend, but she sent me pictures of Juniper showing. That pair should be written up for a magazine – they have quite a story, from mustang roundup to the hunter jumper world!
Monday was a medical day for me, and Tuesday a very long medical day for a friend. I am hoping to be done with that for a while. Today we had a visit from friends Joe and Nancy. It was a dreary November day with some rain this afternoon, but a nice fire with good food and good conversations providing light and warmth.
Here are a few pictures around the place, an attempt at distraction from current events.
More adventures tomorrow…
Be safe, be well, be kind. Cherish this beautiful world while we are here. Slava Ukraini! Peace.
Good Morning,
As always I love your updates and pictures. I hope that all is well with you. Xoxo
Pictures of the horses and their friends always cheer me up.
Thanks for dragging me around yesterday for my cataract surgery best thing was going to breakfast XOXO
You’re so sweet to include me in your blog! Great to see you, Harry, and the pups 🙂
Oh, a comment from Maryann! I haven’t seen her in ages. I hope her surgery was successful. The burning bushes are so beautiful! Too bad they don’t belong here. Thanks for the distraction from the daily news, which only gets worse each day.
