Best laid plans… Well, the horse show start was postponed to 10 AM. Jane and I went over to check things out. She was dressed to ride, I was not. We came home, preparing to return, but there was lightning and thunder, and it continued to rain. I dressed to ride, Jane changed back into regular clothes. We drove back over to the show without the horses, figuring we can try again tomorrow. This evening, though, the rains and storms at Happenstance have been epic. Unfortunately, the forecast is not good.
Around the horse show, I took a few pictures.
Susan, too, elected to postpone her return to the ring until tomorrow. It is so good to see Melissa and Susan again! Riley is a new friend, connected to them in Kirksville. Also accompanying them, is Cecelia, Bart’s glamorous sister. Her official name is Heirloom.

Harry came over for a visit. Of course, the rain had stopped. Our decision to postpone showing until tomorrow may have been unwise.

I did ride Bart here this afternoon, and saw the first chanterelles of summer.

On the back porch, we had a parade of visitors.

The pondless water feature illustrates the rainfall. As I write this, there is flash flooding and worries that the show may not be able to go on.
Stay safe, stay well, stay dry. Peace.
You have the eye for the perfect shot. Best pic of me ever. Thank you!
