At least it isn’t snow! If it was snowing instead of raining, we would be snowed in for days. As it is, we are in danger of washing away. It’s been a bleak, miserable day. It’s been too wet to take the camera outside. But there were plenty of birds to photograph from the comfort of the house.
Early to the feeder, with barely enough light for the camera, my favorite mockingbird…
The flicker arrived and chased away a starling, then was joined by a fearless little junco.
And there are cardinals, of course…
Cardinals and a mockingbird Watching in vain for the clouds to part Flexible neck on that top bird!
We did venture out to run errands this morning. Harry saw Tom Morris on the porch begging to be a house cat (not a chance – only one cat allowed!). So, while we were out, Harry bought a new, cosy bed for the tack room. Tom Morris was grateful.
Almost as good as being in the house Cat lover
I brought the horses in an hour early, drenched, and happy to be in their comfortable stalls.
While I slogged around in the mud doing horse chores, Harry had a productive day in the studio. We both do what we love, and love what we do.
Weedy went to town with us this morning, and spent the rest of the day staying dry and comfortable. We are going to follow his lead now, and curl up.
Stay safe, stay well, stay dry. Peace.
Do what you love and love what you do! As I remember attempting to explain this unusual concept to anxious parents, I still smile 😂💙
